Requesting custom features

Can I request custom features for my campaign site?

We welcome suggestions for new Campaign Platform features.

The platform has an HTML Block for supported uses, such as setting up Advanced Tracking and adding an approved Cookiebot cookie notice. However, you must contact the Campaign Platform team before using it to add a new custom feature, including:

• custom HTML or JavaScript
• live data visualisations
• interactive maps, graphs or quizzes
• bespoke third-party tools or embeds

Because campaign sites share the same platform, unsupported custom code could:

• introduce cybersecurity risks
• affect the security or reliability of other campaign sites
• require ongoing maintenance to remain secure and compatible
• create accessibility or data-protection issues

If you want to request a custom feature, email govuk.campaigns@digital.cabinet-office.gov.uk and explain what you are trying to achieve.

Do not add new custom code until the Campaign Platform team has reviewed your request.

We regularly review requests to understand users’ needs. Where a proposed feature would benefit a significant number of Campaign Platform users, we may consider adding it to our product backlog.
